Presenter
Kathryn Ackerman, M.D., is board certified in Internal Medicine; Sports Medicine; and Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. She is the Medical Director of the Female Athlete Program at Boston Children’s Hospital, the Associate Director of the Sports Endocrine Research Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital, and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. She is a former US team lightweight rower, is a team physician for US Rowing, and is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. Her research focuses on the Female Athlete Triad and the various aspects of Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport. Specifically, she has focused on hormonal treatments for bone density improvements and fracture healing as well as various imaging modalities for assessing bone quality.
