Abstract : Injuries negatively affect the performance of athletes in sports teams and remaining injury and illness free has the potential to maximise athletic success. Training loads contribute to development of sports injuries but they are rarely considered in a sports injury prevention framework. Furthermore, the implementation of these systems is infrequently aligned to proven implementation strategies. This talk will discuss the lessons learnt from implementing load management across a wide variety sports, sharing both the wins and losses along the way.
