Summary From humble beginnings in April 2012, Parkrun has grown to be one of the largest and most significant community health and wellbeing initiatives Australia has ever seen. Parkrun’s use of technology and social media has seen it attract a quarter of a million members in less than five years with no marketing budget. But how has this come to be? During this session delegates will find out about Parkrun’s beginnings in Australia, how Parkrun events happen each Saturday morning and how it recruits and retains volunteers.
