Presenter Presenter : Ben is an Accredited Sports Dietitian and Associate Professor at Griffith University on the Gold Coast. In 1999, Ben was awarded the first Nestlé Fellowship in Sports Nutrition at the Australian Institute in Sport. Subsequently he completed a PhD in sports nutrition and his current research interests span applied, sports and clinical nutrition research with particular focus on the effect of food-borne drugs (specifically caffeine and alcohol) on human performance.
Summary SDA and the AIS have assembled a line-up of some of the most experienced and well respected sporting professionals to have a frank and thought provoking discussion about the use of dietary supplements by athletes. Presenters will discuss the risks, rewards and alternatives that may not have been critically debated previously, focusing on the consequences not commonly considered, and the alternatives to current practices both from the delivery of dietary supplement programs, and the role each professional should play in the solution.
