Presenter Presenter : Sean Eadie, National Track Sprint Coach, Cycling Australia. Sean Eadie is currently a member of the Cycling Australia High Performance Unit (CA HPU) coaching staff based in Sydney. He was a regular member of Cycling Australia’s National Track Cycling Team from 1996 through until his retirement in 2005. During this period his achievements included a Bronze Medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics in the Team Sprint and World Sprint Champion in 2002. Following a year to find himself after his retirement, he began a career in coaching. This took him from Sydney, to the World Cycling Centre in Switzerland, China before coming back to Australia to work at NSWIS with NTID and State athletes. From there he became Assistant National Sprint Coach and headed up the Cycling Australia National Sprint Academy. Through these experiences Sean has worked directly with athletes from at Club / Development level, Masters and World Champions and Olympic Medallist. He draws on his experience as an athlete and now as a coach, to create training plans that develop the characteristics required for success based on the level and needs of the individual.
Summary SDA and the AIS have assembled a line-up of some of the most experienced and well respected sporting professionals to have a frank and thought provoking discussion about the use of dietary supplements by athletes. Presenters will discuss the risks, rewards and alternatives that may not have been critically debated previously, focusing on the consequences not commonly considered, and the alternatives to current practices both from the delivery of dietary supplement programs, and the role each professional should play in the solution.
