Summary |
The 2014 Bone Health in Sport Symposium was presented by Sports Medicine Australia (SMA) in collaboration with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), the Australasian College of Sports Practitioners and Sports Physiotherapy Australia. In 2014 the conference looked at bone health and its management. Bone injuries tend to be high in cost and have a high level of recurrence. This makes management important. Current research points towards a multifactorial nature of these injuries, which means that a multidisciplinary approach is essential. Drawing on talent from overseas and Australia from across the sports medicine spectrum, the conference was practical and topical. It is relevant to those involved with the grass roots athletes, through to the defence forces and the elite. |
