Presenter Presenter: Dr Ian McCurdie is a sports physician based in London with extensive experience in high performance sport. He led the medical team as Chief Medical Officer for Team GB at the 2012 London Olympic Games, as well as being CMO in Beijing and Vancouver and a doctor with Team GB at the Athens & Sydney Olympic Games. Dr McCurdie has attended two Commonwealth Games with Team England in Manchester and Melbourne, been team doctor with the British Davis Cup tennis team and Modern Pentathlon team and was a member of the Chelsea FC medical team for 3 seasons. He is currently a member of the medical team for the Wimbledon Tennis Championships & ATP World Tour Finals and a sports physician to the Royal Ballet School. Dr McCurdie spent many years in the military specialising in the multi-disciplinary rehabilitation of injured military personnel and has transferred that expertise in combat trauma care and rehabilitation into the high performance sport environment. Dr McCurdie’s clinical experience reflects his training in General Practice, Rheumatology, Rehabilitation and Sport & Exercise Medicine (SEM) and his work within the NHS, the military and high performance sport. His clinical interests include the management and rehabilitation of exercise related injury and the effective use of multi-disciplinary teams.
